There was a free-for-all on a Georgia highway Tuesday (7/9) when a load of cash was strewn all over the road.
Police in the Atlanta suburb of Dunwoody say the cash spilled onto the roadway after the side door on an armored car opened, sending the money everywhere.
According to witnesses, more than a dozen vehicles had pulled the side of the road and people were “frantically taking the money.”
The Dunwoody Police Department says its officers helped the truck crew gather a few hundred dollars when they arrived, but added that “plenty was taken by passerby’s sticky fingers.”
The exact amount that was taken is currently unknown.
In a message on Facebook, the Dunwoody Police Department said, “While we certainly understand the temptation, it’s still theft and the money should be returned. We are thankful there were no crashes or pedestrians struck as a result of this isolated cash storm.”
