“All of the Interstate 24 east loop in downtown will shut down this weekend from I-65 to I-40 as crews work to repair the bridge.

This is the first of two weekends the Tennessee Department of Transportation plans to shut down the interstate for repairs.

From Aug. 2 through Aug. 5, crews will work on the Woodland Street and Main Street bridges.

The interstate closes 9 p.m. Friday and reopens around 5 a.m. Monday.”
