“Frozen II” continued its domination at the box office over the weekend, setting the record for the highest-grossing Thanksgiving weekend in history.
According to CNN, the anticipated animated sequel pulled in over $123 million domestically over the five day holiday weekend, breaking the previous $109-million record held by “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.”
But this is just the latest shattered record for “Frozen II.” When “Frozen II” opened in theaters last weekend, it made $130 million domestically for the highest-grossing debut for a Walt Disney Animation Studios film.
In addition, “Frozen II” also debuted with $358 million made worldwide, setting the record for the biggest global opening for an animated film in history.
In just 12 days, “Frozen II” made more than $738 million worldwide.
