Stranded On An Amusement Park Ride? HARD PASS!

Disney World’s New Skyliner Cable-Car System Breaks Down, Strands Riders

This actually happened to me once.  I was riding the Intimidator Rollercoaster in Charlotte, NC with my two nieces….we got stranded on the ride for 45 minutes in the Southern July heat.  I was in a panic….meanwhile my nieces thought it was hilarious, LOL!

Passengers on the new cable-car transportation system, known as Skyliner, at Walt Disney World were left stranded for hours Saturday (October 5) after an incident at one of the stations. Though Disney’s statement claims there wasn’t an accident, rather only “unexpected downtime” fo the Skyliner, photos and videos from gusts on the ground, as well as guests trapped in the Gondolas, suggest otherwise.

“One of three Disney Skyliner routes experienced an unexpected downtime Saturday evening,” Disney’s statement read. “As a result, Skyliner will be closed while we look into the details surrounding this downtime.”

Photos shared on Twitter and Instagram, however show a few yellow gondolas, as well as one blue gondola, pushed up against each other at the Riviera Resort platform.

One passenger, who was in one of the gondolas involved in the pile-up at the station.  The park-goer referred to it as more of a “crushing” than a crash.
